THE RADON EDUCATION PROGRAM OF COLUMBIA COUNTY
We offer general information to educate the community at large on the effects of radon on health.
Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the US – and most radon can easily be mitigated at minimal cost. The challenge to all of us is informing the public. The Columbia County Radon Coalition consists of area home inspectors, insurance and representatives from the Office for the Aging, Cornell Cooperative Extension, Healthcare Consortium and the Columbia County DOH.
The research of our coalition members, confirmed by the NYSDOH website, has determined that these towns have some of the highest radon levels in Columbia County:
